Kriti Sanon made a powerful appearance at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2025 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The actor attended the Women in Cinema Gala, an event that honours influential women who are shaping the future of global cinema. Her presence brought strong Indian representation to the celebration and made her one of the most talked-about stars of the evening.
A Bold and Elegant Look
Kriti arrived at the gala wearing a dramatic all-black gown that immediately caught everyone’s attention. The outfit featured an asymmetrical neckline and a structured shoulder design that gave the look a modern shape. Long ruffle details flowed down the gown, adding movement and a stylish edge. The thigh-high slit made the dress even more striking and added a touch of bold glamour.
She completed her look with sleek black heels and matching earrings. Her makeup was kept clean and simple, focusing mainly on her eyes. Kriti styled her hair in a neat updo, which helped highlight the upper design of the gown and kept the entire appearance elegant and polished.
A Day of Talks and Film Conversations
Earlier in the day, Kriti took part in an “In Conversation” session at the festival’s fifth edition. She spoke about her journey as an actor, her personal growth, and the kinds of roles she feels connected to. She shared that she chooses characters that carry emotional depth and offer meaningful challenges.
She later visited the Variety Lounge, where she discussed her recent performances and the changes happening for women in Hindi cinema. Kriti said that her newest film, Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Aanand L Rai, has given her one of the most complex roles of her career.
A Challenging Role in Her Latest Film
In Tere Ishk Mein, Kriti plays a woman trapped in an abusive relationship. She described the character as raw, imperfect, and deeply human. The role required her to explore difficult emotions, and she said it was one of the most demanding performances she has taken on.
Kriti talked about how female characters in Hindi films were often shown through a limited perspective—usually gentle, innocent, or distressed. But now, with more women writing scripts and directing films, female characters are becoming more realistic. They are allowed to be flawed, strong, confused, and authentic.
The Return of Romance in Hindi Cinema
Kriti also expressed happiness about the comeback of romantic films. She said that while modern dating is often fast and shallow, audiences still want stories that show real emotions and true affection. “This year has been about love stories,” she shared, adding that romance is her favorite film genre.
A Star-Studded Evening Celebrating Women
Along with Kriti, other Indian icons also made appearances at the festival. Aishwarya Rai, one of India’s most celebrated actors, attended the event. Legendary actress Rekha also brought her timeless charm to the red carpet, drawing global attention.
By joining the Women In Cinema Gala, Kriti Sanon stood beside filmmakers, actors, and creators from around the world, celebrating the strength and creativity of women in the global film industry. Her confident presence, meaningful conversations, and stunning fashion choices made her one of the standout personalities of the festival’s 2025 edition.
