In a looming legal saga, Kevin Spacey is poised to encounter fresh civil legal actions in London over allegations of sexual assault, occurring years after his exoneration from criminal charges.
Three plaintiffs have stepped forward against the 66-year-old actor, claiming incidents that transpired from 2000 to 2013 during his tenure as artistic director at the Old Vic theatre. A judge has tentatively set October 12, 2026, as a trial date, although it remains to be determined if the matters will be consolidated into a single court appearance or assessed separately.
Spacey continues to refute the allegations. Two of the claimants had participated in his earlier criminal trial, where he was acquitted. One individual accuses him of multiple assaults between 2000 and 2005, another seeks damages due to psychological and financial distress from a purported 2008 incident, while the third, actor Ruari Cannon, asserts he was inappropriately touched during a 2013 theatre event. Cannon is additionally pursuing legal action against the Old Vic theatre.
In a recent discussion, Spacey revealed the financial toll these proceedings have taken, noting he’s residing in temporary accommodations while continuing his professional engagements. He subsequently emphasized that he does not consider himself homeless in the conventional sense, expressing appreciation for those who have reached out to support him and showcasing empathy for individuals facing real hardship.
