One big decision was about debt. The council, following the orders of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, decided that a person who cannot pay debts should not go to jail right away. Before any action is taken, there must be a proper check. The person who is owed money must prove that the debtor has money but is not paying on purpose or is hiding wealth. This rule makes sure that people who truly have no money are not punished unfairly. At the same time, it ensures that those who refuse to pay without reason are dealt with properly.
Another important decision was about family disputes. The council instructed Sharjah’s Public Prosecution to work with government offices that handle family and social matters. Their job is to help families solve their problems before they take the case to court. This step will help families stay united and prevent fights from turning into long legal battles. By talking and understanding each other, families can settle their issues peacefully.
The council also talked about hiring more Emiratis in the judicial system. With the help of the Ministry of Justice, they are working to give more legal jobs to local people. The members of the council discussed how this plan is going, what problems they are facing, and how to make the process smooth. The main aim is to make sure that the courts work well while also preparing local professionals for these jobs. It is important that all legal offices work together to make this change successful.
At the start of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi welcomed all members and thanked them for their hard work. He praised their efforts to make sure that the justice system in Sharjah is strong, fair, and clear. The meeting also covered other legal matters, and past decisions were reviewed to see if they were being followed correctly. The council promised to keep improving the legal system so that justice is served in the best way possible.
Many important officials attended the meeting, including Judge Dr. Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Judicial Department, Dr. Mansour bin Nassar, Chairman of the Legal Department of the Government of Sharjah, Judge Ahmed Abdullah Al Mulla, Chairman of the Court of Cassation, Counselor Anwar Amin Al Harmoudi, Attorney General and Head of the Public Prosecution Authority, Judge Dr. Salama Rashid Salem Tamim Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Judicial Inspection Department, Judge Abdulrahman Sultan bin Taliah, Chairman of the Courts of Appeal, Judge Dr. Omar Obaid Al Ghoul, Chairman of the Courts of First Instance, and Sheikh Faisal bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Mualla, Secretary General of the Judicial Council.
The meeting showed Sharjah’s strong commitment to fairness and justice. The council is working hard to protect people's rights, support families, and improve the legal system.
