Arab stars and Hollywood celebrities shone on the red carpet at one of the biggest entertainment events in the region: the Joy Awards 2025, held Saturday at Riyadh's Kingdom Arena. Present were Hollywood stars Matthew McConaughey, Amanda Seyfried, Anthony Hopkins, Morgan Freeman, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Martin Lawrence. With them were famous footballer Thierry Henry and regional celebrities like veteran Egyptian actress Yousra and Saudi actress Mila Alzahrani.
The event featured astounding performances by pop singer Christina Aguilera, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, crooner Michael Buble, Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury, and Saudi icon Mohammed Abdu all lighting up the stage. Now in its fifth edition, the Joy Awards-this year dedicated to film, television, sports, and social media achievements-is put up by the Saudi General Entertainment Authority and aired on MBC live and streamed globally on the Shahid streaming network.
Christina Aguilera was walking the lavender carpet with her fiancé, Matthew Rutler. She was dressed in a white shirt with a shiny maxi skirt and dark sunglasses. She performed her 2002 hit "The Voice Within," before changing into a red Elie Saab gown and later into a black leather outfit for her hit song "Genie in a Bottle."

Amanda Seyfried, featuring in a crimson ruffled Valentino dress with a black bow at the waist, appeared ethereal as she walked on the carpet. Her look reminded many of her Red Riding Hood character. Mathew McConaughey with his wife model Camila Alves wowed in a sunny yellow Oscar de la Renta dress set with gold sequins.
Regional superstars also grabbed the attention, with many of them wearing Lebanese designers. Saudi actress Mila Alzahrani wore an elegant sapphire dress designed by Sara Mrad; it sported a corset top, a puffy sleeve, and skirt with organza feathers and embroidered flowers on it. The outfit also included an extra pleated puffy train.
Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad dressed several stars, including Lebanese singer Cyrine Abdelnour, Egyptian actress Enjy Kiwan, Moroccan actress Miryam Labiad, and Lebanese actress Aimee Sayah. Egyptian actress Nelly Karim wore a red gown by Lebanese designer Tony Ward, while Syrian singer Assala Nasri stunned in a design by Nicolas Jebran.
A tremendous display of Arabic and international talents, it united Arab and international acts that the diverse mix of performances was the magic that mesmerized the audience from dusk till dawn.
