On Thursday morning, an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Krabi was marred by chaos after the pilot reportedly declined to fly beyond his scheduled duty hours. The initial departure for Flight 6E 1085 was set for 4:05 am, but the aircraft was held back for over three hours.
Footage from the scene captures heated exchanges between passengers and the cabin crew. Some travelers criticized the pilot for his refusal, claiming his duty time had lapsed. A passenger was heard lamenting over disrupted travel plans, while another demanded information about the pilot’s absence. Additionally, an individual was seen kicking the plane's exit door, showcasing the escalating frustration in the cabin.
An IndiGo representative stated that multiple factors caused the delay, such as the late arrival of the preceding aircraft, air traffic delays, and crew duty time regulations. It was noted that two passengers exhibited unruly behavior during the delay, leading to their removal by security and contributing to further hold-ups.
The airline confirmed the provision of meals and refreshments to alleviate passenger discomfort during the wait. IndiGo reiterated its commitment to safety and maintaining a respectful atmosphere, offering apologies for the disruption.
Flight tracking information indicated that the aircraft, originally supposed to land in Krabi at 10 am, eventually arrived around 1 pm, leaving travelers feeling frustrated yet relieved to finally arrive at their destination.
