A 41-year-old Indian-origin man named Abhay Nayak has been arrested in the United Kingdom after he caused a major disturbance on a flight from London Luton Airport to Glasgow. The incident happened on Sunday, July 27, and has since gone viral on social media.
Mr Nayak, who lives in Luton, near London, was flying on an EasyJet flight when he began shouting loudly and making threatening statements. He reportedly yelled political and religious slogans and even threatened to bomb the aircraft, which made many passengers feel scared and unsafe.
According to reports, during the flight, Mr Nayak began shouting phrases like:
This shouting frightened the passengers, and the situation quickly became tense. A video recorded by someone on the plane shows two men tackling Mr Nayak and holding him down on the floor until the plane landed.

Due to the chaos, the flight made an emergency landing in Glasgow, where Scottish police officers came on board and arrested Mr Nayak.
Police Scotland released a statement confirming the arrest:
“We were called to a report of a man causing a disturbance on a flight arriving into Glasgow around 8:20 am on Sunday, July 27. We believe the incident to be contained and that nobody else was involved.”
They also said that counter-terrorism officers are reviewing the videos from the flight, but Mr Nayak is not facing any terrorism charges at this time. Instead, he has been charged with assault and endangering the safety of an aircraft under the UK Air Navigation Order.
The airline EasyJet also responded:
“We can confirm that a passenger was removed by police due to disruptive behaviour, and we are assisting authorities with their enquiries,” said a spokesperson.
After being arrested, Mr Nayak was taken to Paisley Sheriff Court where he entered no plea. He has now been placed in judicial remand, which means he will stay in custody while the court continues to look into the case. He is expected to appear in court again next week.
This incident is taken very seriously because air travel safety is extremely important. When someone behaves in a way that causes fear or threatens others on a plane, it can lead to dangerous situations for both passengers and the crew. Airlines and police must act quickly to keep everyone safe.
Although Mr Nayak is not being treated as a terrorist, his actions put the flight at risk, which is why legal action has been taken. Authorities are continuing their investigation and checking if he had any other plans or if this was just a one-time outburst.
This case is a reminder that air safety rules must be respected at all times. Threats or aggressive behaviour on a plane are never acceptable, and there are strict laws in place to deal with such situations.
While Mr Nayak’s motive remains unclear, passenger safety was protected by the quick actions of fellow travellers, the airline staff, and the police. As the investigation continues, the authorities are making sure that justice is served.
