A 28-year-old man from India has died under unexplained circumstances during a popular music festival in Phuket, Thailand. This incident occurred in the early hours of January 18, leaving both local attendees and international visitors in shock.
The deceased, identified as Jain Saksham, had participated in the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), a three-day music festival held in Cherng Talay, Phuket. Post-event, he ventured to a nearby parking area, where he climbed onto a parked pickup truck. Bystanders reported that he seemed confused and erratic, damaging several other parked vehicles along Bandon-Choeng Thale Road.
Emergency services were alerted, and Saksham was quickly transported to Thalang Hospital after concerns about his unusual behavior. Medical professionals indicated he was in a state of shock and lost consciousness soon after arriving. Unfortunately, despite their attempts to save him, he passed away, with the specific cause of death still unknown.
Authorities have indicated no visible injuries or signs of foul play on his body. An autopsy at Vachira Phuket Hospital has been scheduled to uncover the reason for his abrupt demise. Investigators are exploring various angles, including potential substance involvement or pre-existing health issues.
The Indian embassy is working with local officials to inform Saksham's family. After the autopsy, his relatives will be allowed to recover his body and perform necessary religious rites.
This event has shocked festival participants and the surrounding community, bringing to light the importance of safety measures during major public gatherings.
