Hazza bin Zayed reviews culture, tourism progress with Al Ain delegation

His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain, welcomed a delegation from the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). The delegation was led by His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi.

The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Excellency Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi; and Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral Group.

During the discussions, Sheikh Hazza was updated on various plans and projects designed to enhance the culture and tourism sectors in Al Ain. The delegation shared insights on strategic initiatives aimed at boosting tourism, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting economic development. They also talked about the importance of these sectors in attracting investments and ensuring long-term social and economic progress in the region.

Sheikh Hazza highlighted that strengthening the tourism sector in Al Ain is a key part of Abu Dhabi’s vision to establish itself as a global tourism hub. He pointed out that continued investments in tourism reflect the commitment of the UAE’s leadership, under His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. These efforts aim to achieve sustainable growth, improve the quality of life, and create new job opportunities for the community.

He also emphasized Al Ain’s rich historical and archaeological sites, which make it a unique destination. He stressed the importance of using these assets wisely to strengthen Al Ain’s presence in the local, regional, and global tourism markets. He encouraged the development of projects that celebrate the city's cultural heritage and provide visitors with an engaging and immersive tourism experience.

Furthermore, Sheikh Hazza underlined the need to attract more visitors to Al Ain by promoting its deep cultural roots, stunning natural landscapes, and vibrant arts scene. He highlighted the role of key annual events such as the Traditional Handicrafts Festival, Al Ain Book Festival, Mother of the Nation Festival, and Dar Al Zain Festival. These events, he said, help boost tourism and position Al Ain as a leading cultural and tourist destination.

The meeting reinforced the UAE’s vision of integrating culture and tourism to create a thriving and sustainable future for Al Ain, ensuring that its historical and cultural legacy is preserved while also fostering economic growth.
