Landscape photography is not just about taking pictures of beautiful places. It is a way for photographers to connect with nature, express their feelings, and show the world’s true beauty. At the 9th International Photography Festival (Xposure 2025) in Sharjah, two famous photographers, Isabella Tabacchi and Filip Hrebenda, shared their thoughts and experiences about capturing nature’s wonders. They explained how landscapes are not just trees, mountains, and rivers but places filled with emotions, memories, and stories.

Isabella Tabacchi spoke about how every landscape has a special meaning. She believes nature can feel alive, carrying people’s happiness, sadness, and even silence. She shared how her love for volcanoes and faraway places shaped her work. One of her most peaceful pictures was taken in Japan during cherry blossom season. She described how the morning sunlight made her feel calm as she looked at the soft pink blossoms and the mighty Mount Fuji in the background. This moment, she said, was like nature speaking to her heart.
She also talked about her famous aerial photo, "Tree of Life," taken in Iceland. She said nature often creates its own art, more beautiful than anything man can make. Her job as a photographer is to capture these moments and remind people how delicate and precious our planet is. She hopes her work makes people understand why it is important to take care of nature.
Filip Hrebenda, who grew up in Slovakia’s High Tatra Mountains, spoke about how nature’s power shaped his love for photography. He believes that fire, water, air, earth, and space are the true artists of the world. Through his photos, he tries to show how these forces create and change the land. His collection of pictures, "Born of Fire," is one of his most famous works. It captures Iceland’s volcanoes exploding with red-hot lava, showing the raw power of fire.
Hrebenda also spoke about water and how it plays a big role in shaping landscapes. His photos of glaciers, waterfalls, and rivers show the gentle and strong sides of water. But the most touching part of his talk was about space. He described standing under the Northern Lights or looking at the Milky Way, feeling tiny compared to the vast universe. He said that when people look up at the night sky, they realize there is so much more beyond their daily lives. This feeling, he believes, changes the way people see the world.
Both photographers believe their work is not just about showing beauty but also about making people care for the environment. Tabacchi said photography is not just an art but also a way to take action. When people see the soul of a landscape, they feel the need to protect it. Hrebenda added that people will only protect what they love, and they can only love what they truly see and understand. As photographers, their goal is to help people see nature in a new way and inspire them to save it.
The audience at Xposure 2025 left with a new respect for landscape photography. Through their pictures and stories, Isabella Tabacchi and Filip Hrebenda showed that landscapes are not just places but living things full of meaning. Their work is a reminder that nature’s beauty is a gift, and it is up to people to care for it before it is lost forever.
