The festival is a significant part of the larger Hatta Winter initiative, which runs from 13 December 2024 to 22 January 2025. This initiative, held under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, encourages people to explore the mountainous region of Hatta during the cooler months. Brand Dubai is supervising the event as part of its efforts to showcase Hatta as a leading winter destination in the UAE.

Amina Taher, Project Manager at Brand Dubai, explained that the Hatta Winter Festival is designed to bring together Dubai’s creative community and inspire visitors. The festival not only promotes artistic collaboration but also highlights the breathtaking landscapes of Hatta. According to her, this event offers a perfect balance of creativity, adventure, and fitness.

The festival will feature several exciting activities. Two standout events are the Creatives Walk and the Photographers Walk. The Creatives Walk, organised in partnership with The Creatives Shop, will take place on 29 December 2024. It will bring together videographers, photographers, artists, writers, and designers for a creative tour of Hatta. Participants will capture their journey using different art forms and share their experiences on social media using specific hashtags. This event is aimed at connecting creative minds and promoting Hatta’s beauty to a wider audience.

The Photographers Walk, on the other hand, is organised in collaboration with fotoUAE and will be held on 4 January 2025. This walk invites photography lovers to explore Hatta’s scenic beauty and document its unique landscapes and community life. Guided by experienced photographers, participants will learn new skills and contribute to a visual archive of Hatta’s culture and environment. This event highlights the role of photographers in showcasing the region’s charm.

Fitness and adventure activities are another major highlight of the festival. Visitors can take part in open-air spin bike sessions on 4 January and 11 January 2025. These sessions, held at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, are organised in partnership with ‘Padel and Fitness Hub 700,’ a sports centre known for its modern equipment and facilities. For those who enjoy intense workouts, high-intensity “Sport Hit” sessions will be offered on 21 December and 28 December 2024, starting at 4:00 PM. After the workouts, participants can relax with calming yoga sessions at 5:00 PM, set against the beautiful Hatta Dam backdrop near the famous Zayed and Rashid mural.

One of the most unique activities at the festival is horse riding. Organised in collaboration with Yaazar Café, the horse riding experience will allow visitors to connect with nature while riding through Hatta’s picturesque landscapes. This experience combines the beauty of Hatta’s mountains with the elegance of equestrian culture, creating an unforgettable journey for visitors.

The Hatta Winter Festival is part of a larger series of events under the Hatta Winter initiative, which spans nearly 40 days. Other festivals include Hatta Cultural Nights by Dubai Culture, Hatta Honey Festival and Hatta Agricultural Festival organised by Dubai Municipality, and Hatta x DSF presented by the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). These events will feature cultural, entertainment, and community activities, offering fun and excitement for people of all ages.

To make it easier for visitors to reach Hatta, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will operate the Hatta Express bus service, which will run 14 daily trips from Dubai to Hatta. There will also be over 1,100 parking spaces available for visitors, along with 17 internal shuttle buses to transport guests from parking areas to the event location. Special buses will also provide easy access to the top of Hatta Dam, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the breathtaking views.

With its mix of creative activities, fitness challenges, and natural beauty, the Hatta Winter Festival promises to offer something special for everyone. The event not only highlights Hatta as a top winter destination but also creates a platform for people to come together and enjoy art, nature, and adventure. It reflects Dubai’s commitment to showcasing the emirate’s hidden gems while encouraging community involvement and creative expression.
