Dubai, UAE, 26 January 2026 – Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), has announced a major step forward in the organisation’s mission to enhance safety, sustainability, and innovation across motorsport and global mobility, welcoming Hankook as the latest member of the FIA Global Partner Programme.
Hankook, one of the world’s leading tyre manufacturers, officially joins the programme after more than three years of close collaboration with the FIA. The Global Partner Programme brings together influential organisations dedicated to advancing technological progress, improving safety standards, and promoting sustainable solutions in both competitive racing and everyday transportation.
As part of this expanded partnership, Hankook will serve as an Official Partner of the annual FIA Awards and the FIA Sustainable Innovation Series (SIS), a global platform designed to foster collaboration between industry leaders, regulators, and innovators. The SIS operates in conjunction with FIA World Championships, including the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, FIA Formula One World Championship, FIA World Endurance Championship, and FIA World Rally Championship, from 2026 through 2028.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem highlighted the importance of the collaboration, stating that sustainability and technological advancement remain central to the FIA’s mission. He expressed confidence that Hankook’s expertise will strengthen efforts to make motorsport and mobility safer and more sustainable through shared innovation and global cooperation.
The FIA Sustainable Innovation Series plays a key role in translating cutting-edge motorsport technology into real-world mobility solutions, ensuring that developments tested on the track can benefit road vehicles and broader transportation systems.
Hankook currently acts as the exclusive technical partner and tyre supplier for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and the FIA World Rally Championships, supporting the FIA’s ambition to use motorsport as a proving ground for responsible and forward-looking innovation. These championships provide a live testing environment for advanced materials, enhanced performance standards, and improved safety technologies, with insights that can be transferred to everyday driving and mobility applications.
Jongho Park, President and COO of Hankook Tire Europe, emphasised that technological innovation must align with safety, fairness, and responsibility to be truly sustainable. He stated that Hankook aims to contribute its technological expertise and sustainable tyre development capabilities to shape the future of mobility, both in motorsport and beyond.
Craig Edmondson, Chief Commercial Officer of the FIA, added that the Global Partner Programme continues to expand with organisations that share the FIA’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and safety. He welcomed Hankook into the programme and highlighted the partnership’s role in accelerating progress toward a more sustainable and future-focused global mobility ecosystem.
