Dubai: The 15th Globe Soccer Awards happened in Dubai on December 27. It was a big event where some of the world’s best football players were honored. Brazilian footballer Vinicius Jr. won the Best Men’s Player award, making him the star of the evening. The event took place at Atlantis, The Palm, a famous hotel in Dubai.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the famous Portuguese footballer, also got an important award. Ronaldo was named the Best Middle Eastern Player for his great performance while playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Since he joined the club in January 2023, Ronaldo has scored 74 goals in 83 matches. His amazing efforts helped him win this award.
Ronaldo Talks About Vinicius Jr.
While speaking at the event, Ronaldo talked about Vinicius Jr. and how he felt the Brazilian player was treated unfairly at the Ballon d’Or awards. Ronaldo said, “I think Vinicius deserved to win the golden ball. It was unfair that he didn’t win. Rodri deserved it too, but Vinicius won the Champions League and scored in the final. They should have given it to him.”

Many football fans agreed with Ronaldo. They also felt that Vinicius Jr. should have won the Ballon d’Or because of his excellent performance. However, the award went to Rodri, who helped Manchester City win big titles, including the Champions League.
A Great Year for Vinicius Jr.
Even though he didn’t win the Ballon d’Or, 2023 was still a fantastic year for Vinicius Jr. Earlier, he was named FIFA’s Best Men’s Player. He also won the Best Men’s Player award at the Globe Soccer Awards. His performance with Real Madrid, especially in the Champions League, has made him one of the top players in football.
When he received his award, Vinicius Jr. shared how happy he was. He said, “I feel very happy to be here and to get this award. I want to thank Real Madrid, my teammates, and everyone who has worked with me. They helped me play at my best.”
