Miss Jamaica 2024, Gabrielle Henry, is still hospitalised three days after suffering a severe fall during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown round in Thailand. The incident occurred on November 19, when the 28-year-old contestant lost her balance while walking in high heels and fell off the stage in a sparkly orange gown. She was immediately taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where doctors conducted scans and tests to assess the extent of her injuries.
Early medical updates confirmed that although she had no life-threatening injuries and no broken bones, she required ongoing monitoring due to the impact of the fall. As a result, Henry was unable to participate in the Miss Universe Pageant held the following day on November 20.
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization later shared that her mother, Maureen, and her sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, had arrived in Thailand to support her. Dr. Henry-Samuels revealed that Gabrielle’s condition remained concerning, noting, “Gabby isn’t doing as well as we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly.” Medical teams have recommended that she remain in the intensive care unit for at least seven more days to ensure continuous, specialized care.
The organization urged the public to keep Gabrielle in their thoughts and prayers, emphasizing the need for compassion and responsible online behavior. They requested that social media users avoid sharing negative comments or unverified information that could cause further distress to her family. Their statement reaffirmed that the focus remains on her recovery and well-being.
Messages of support have poured in from fans, fellow contestants, and members of the global pageant community. Officials who visited Henry assured that she is receiving attentive and appropriate medical care. She continues to remain in the ICU as doctors work toward stabilizing her condition, with further updates expected once improvements are observed.
