Abu Dhabi, UAE – Joshua Dürksen delivered a sensational performance at the 2025 Formula 2® season finale, claiming a commanding victory for AIX Racing in Sunday’s Feature Race during the Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Paraguayan driver, who has now secured four wins this season, converted his impressive pace into a final P1 finish, closing the year on a career-high note and reinforcing his reputation as one of the championship’s standout talents.
The Feature Race followed an intense qualifying session on Saturday, where Arvid Lindblad secured a spot inside the top 10 and ultimately finished ninth. Fellow frontrunners Jak Crawford and newly crowned Drivers’ Champion Leonardo Fornaroli were engaged in a tightly contested midfield battle, highlighting the depth of competition across the grid. Fornaroli’s remarkable consistency throughout the season not only earned him the Drivers’ Championship but also secured Invicta Racing the 2025 Teams’ Championship, marking a complete sweep of Formula 2® honors for the team.
On the Yas Marina Circuit podium, Dürksen was joined by Roman Staněk and Gabriele Minì, who finished second and third after a fiercely contested race. Dino Beganovic received a five-second penalty, relegating him from an initial podium finish to fourth, while Oliver Goethe rounded out the top five in a season-closing performance that exemplified the championship’s competitive intensity.
As the final round of the 2025 FIA Formula 2® calendar, the Abu Dhabi event underscored the series’ ongoing role as a proven pathway to Formula 1®, with several drivers already linked to F1 teams and participating in official Free Practice sessions, further demonstrating the championship’s critical role in nurturing the next generation of top-tier motorsport talent.
