Dubai, October 13, 2025 – The 45th edition of GITEX GLOBAL officially kicked off at the Dubai World Trade Centre today, with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, leading the inauguration. The annual technology and AI showcase brings together innovators, startups, and global tech leaders, reinforcing Dubai’s role as a hub for digital transformation.
Accompanying His Highness were key members of Dubai’s leadership, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

A Vision for a Digital Economy
Addressing attendees, His Highness highlighted the UAE’s ambition to be a global model in building a knowledge-driven, AI-powered digital economy. He emphasized Dubai’s goal to raise the annual contribution of digital transformation to the emirate’s economy to AED100 billion by 2033, reflecting a strategic focus on technology, innovation, and future industries.
“GITEX has evolved beyond a technology gathering—it is a global movement that opens new horizons for growth, partnerships, and sustainable prosperity,” His Highness said.
Global Participation and Innovation
This year, GITEX GLOBAL hosts more than 6,800 tech companies and 2,000 startups from 180 countries. The event features conferences, expert discussions, and interactive showcases, making it a central meeting point for tech pioneers worldwide.
His Highness toured pavilions from leading global companies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), e&, G42, Huawei, IBM, Microsoft, and Oracle, viewing innovations in AI, cloud computing, quantum computing, and sustainability solutions.
Highlights included futuristic technologies such as flying cars, eVTOL air taxis, AI-powered autonomous vehicles, and advanced robotics, reflecting the UAE’s drive to integrate cutting-edge technology into everyday life.
Strategic Collaborations and Smart Solutions
His Highness also visited government and innovation hubs, including the General Directorate for Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai and the Community Development Authority, to observe AI-driven smart solutions enhancing public services.
The event featured the European Innovation Council pavilion, showcasing 15 leading innovation-driven companies exploring new collaborations. Major industry players, such as Cisco, Huawei, and Siemens, presented solutions supporting digital transformation and sustainable growth across sectors.

Now in its 45th year, GITEX GLOBAL continues to accelerate international dialogue on AI policies, infrastructure development, and responsible innovation. By uniting government entities, startups, SMEs, and investors, the event serves as a catalyst for cross-sector collaboration, economic diversification, and technological advancement.
