One of the key measures highlighted is the importance of securing indoor electrical connections to mitigate potential hazards caused by water exposure. Additionally, residents are urged to keep internal rain gutters clean to facilitate efficient drainage and prevent structural damage or flooding.
Designated rainwater drains should be utilized to safely divert rainwater away from properties, while avoiding the use of sewage drains for this purpose can prevent blockages and sewage overflow.
To prevent accidents and damage, outdoor furniture should be securely fastened, and loose items susceptible to becoming airborne in strong winds should be removed from outdoor areas. Similarly, tools and equipment on balconies and other outdoor spaces should be relocated indoors.
Residents are advised to steer clear of hazardous areas such as trees, unstable boards, and construction sites during rainy weather to minimize the risk of accidents or injury.
In the event of emergencies, residents are encouraged to promptly contact Dubai Municipality through the designated hotline at 800900 or via WhatsApp at (+971800900).
These comprehensive guidelines underscore the municipality's commitment to promoting safety and preparedness among residents during adverse weather conditions. By adhering to these recommendations, residents can play a proactive role in mitigating risks and ensuring their well-being throughout the rainy season.
