Dubai Chamber of Commerce has successfully strengthened Dubai-Malaysia business ties by organizing 166 bilateral meetings in Kuala Lumpur. The initiative, part of the ‘New Horizons’ trade mission, aims to unlock international growth opportunities for Dubai-based companies across high-potential markets.
Representatives from 20 Dubai-based firms, spanning sectors such as ICT, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, tourism, retail, FMCG, building materials, engineering, and oil and gas, participated in the mission. The trade mission enabled direct engagement with Malaysian companies, fostering potential partnerships and market expansion.
A key highlight was the business forum titled ‘Doing Business with Malaysia,’ attended by 240 participants, including senior officials, industry leaders, and Malaysian companies keen to collaborate. Dubai Chamber, with support from the UAE Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia’s Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, facilitated discussions on investment opportunities, trade partnerships, and economic collaboration.
During the forum, Dubai Chamber signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysia’s National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The MoU focuses on enhancing bilateral trade, supporting trade missions, and organizing business events that strengthen ties between Dubai and Malaysian business communities.
Presentations at the forum showcased Dubai’s economic strengths, including its competitive advantages as a regional hub for investment, while the Malaysian Investment Development Authority highlighted key sectors attracting foreign investment, including transport, real estate, tourism, plastics, business services, and healthcare.
Trade data reflects growing momentum, with non-oil trade between Dubai and Malaysia surpassing AED 17.8 billion in 2024, marking 20% annual growth. Dubai Chamber’s Malaysian membership reached 318 companies by September 2025, with 73 new members joining in the first nine months of the year.
Key products identified for export from Dubai to Malaysia include chemicals, aircraft parts, turbo-jets, plastics, metals such as copper, iron, nickel, and food items like coffee, tea, and dairy products. Dubai-based companies now have access to a wider range of sectors in Malaysia for investment and business development, paving the way for long-term collaboration.
