The Dubai Financial Audit Authority (FAA) has celebrated the graduation of the third cohort of the Professional Diploma – Government Auditor Programme, a flagship initiative launched in partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) to prepare and empower national talent for key audit and oversight responsibilities across Dubai’s government sector.

The programme comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, enhance transparency, and support the strategic objectives of government entities operating under the supervision of the Authority. This third cohort included 22 employees representing 13 different Dubai Government entities, all of whom completed an intensive and comprehensive training journey combining academic study with practical field experience.

The programme was delivered in two main phases. The first phase focused on academic learning and included 29 specialised modules covering a wide range of essential topics. These included artificial intelligence in auditing, International Standards on Auditing, International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), relevant financial and regulatory legislation, financial statement analysis, enterprise risk management, and corporate governance practices for government entities in Dubai. The aim was to provide participants with a strong theoretical foundation aligned with the latest international standards and modern regulatory requirements.

The second phase shifted the focus to practical application. During this stage, participants took part in real audit assignments under the supervision of experienced FAA audit experts. This hands-on approach allowed trainees to apply what they had learned in real working environments, helping them develop practical skills, professional confidence, and a deeper understanding of regulatory work. The integrated structure of the programme ensured that graduates are fully prepared to carry out their duties efficiently and in line with international best practices.

His Excellency Abdulrahman Al Hareb, Director General of the Dubai Financial Audit Authority, said the graduation of the third cohort reflects the Authority’s continued commitment to building a strong and effective regulatory ecosystem based on qualified national talent. He noted that the programme equips participants with the scientific tools and professional knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively, in line with the vision of the Government of Dubai to strengthen oversight, governance, and accountability across all government entities.

He also praised the partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, describing it as a key factor in creating a supportive and high-quality training environment. He expressed confidence that the programme’s graduates will make a meaningful contribution to their respective entities and play an important role in strengthening the regulatory environment across the emirate.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, congratulated the graduates and said the programme reflects the leadership’s vision of investing in Emirati talent and empowering national competencies to drive long-term institutional excellence. He stressed that people remain the foundation of building an efficient, flexible, and future-ready government system.

Dr. Al Marri added that the strategic partnership with the Dubai Financial Audit Authority represents a strong model of integrated government cooperation aimed at enhancing transparency and sound governance. He highlighted MBRSG’s commitment to combining academic knowledge with practical training and to equipping national cadres with the latest auditing tools based on international standards and modern technologies, in support of better financial decision-making, asset protection, and more efficient government performance.

The Professional Diploma – Government Auditor Programme continues to strengthen its position as one of Dubai’s leading professional development initiatives. It provides participants with core auditing skills, data analysis capabilities, a solid understanding of financial legislation, and a strong grounding in professional ethics, along with exposure to the latest best practices in regulatory and oversight work.

The graduation of the third cohort underscores the ongoing commitment of Dubai’s government entities to developing national talent, keeping pace with rapid changes in the regulatory environment, and building sustainable institutional practices that support the long-term vision of the Government of Dubai.
