Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, has filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG). He claims the company spread false rumors about him through Kendrick Lamar’s song “Not Like Us.” The song says Drake is a paedophile, which he strongly denies. Drake says this has put his life in danger just for money.

In the lawsuit, Drake says that UMG used dishonest methods to promote the song. He accuses them of using things like bots, fake payment for plays, and influencer marketing to make the song popular. Drake says UMG cared more about making money than protecting artists. His lawyers wrote, "UMG chose to make money instead of keeping its artists safe, spreading lies to make the song go viral."
Drake also talks about bad things happening at his home after the song came out. There was a shooting that hurt a guard, and several break-ins. He says these things happened because of UMG’s actions.
Drake’s lawsuit claims that UMG wanted to make big money from both Kendrick Lamar and Drake. The company wanted to show it could make lots of sales with Lamar, who had a short-term contract. At the same time, they wanted to hurt Drake’s image to get more power in his contract talks. Drake says, "UMG wanted to get better deals by hurting my reputation."
Kendrick Lamar is not being sued, and Drake’s legal team says UMG is the one to blame for allowing and promoting the song. Drake insists that he is not a paedophile and has never done anything wrong.
The lawsuit also talks about how UMG used fake bots to make the song more popular on streaming sites like Spotify. A person who worked with UMG says they were paid $2,500 to use bots to get millions of streams in just a few days.
UMG has denied the claims. A spokesperson for the company said the lawsuit is unfair and that they would fight back. They said UMG has spent a lot of money to support Drake and would never want to hurt his reputation.
