Popular singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh recently spoke at a special event in Canada. During his speech, he talked about the famous necklace of the Maharaja of Patialand shared his deep feelings about Punjab.
Diljit said that the world-famous jewelry brand Cartier had taken the necklace that once belonged to the Maharaja of Patiala. This necklace was very expensive and had big diamonds, including one rare yellow diamond. It was a symbol of Punjab’s royal history. Diljit shared that the necklace disappeared for many years and then some of its pieces were later found with Cartier. He called it “theft” and said it was taken from India unfairly.
While talking about Punjab, Diljit became emotional. With tears in his eyes, he said,
"We are blessed, but we are also cursed."

He explained that Punjab has a rich culture, brave people, and a great history. But he also said that the state has faced many problems — from violence in the past to people leaving the state for better lives abroad. He said he feels sad when he sees the pain of his people.
Diljit also said that he wants to keep telling Punjab’s stories through his music and films. He feels it’s his duty to show the world the truth and pride of Punjab.
