In a cinematic landscape teeming with new releases, Dhurandhar has carved out an impressive niche at the box office, demonstrating a remarkable enduring appeal. After 39 days since its debut, the film continues to draw enthusiastic audiences throughout India, amassing an astonishing domestic gross of Rs 860.10 crore.
Official reports indicate that on its sixth Monday, Dhurandhar garnered an impressive Rs 2.70 crore—an uncommon feat for weekday earnings in today's box office climate, where weekday contributions generally drop. This positive trend is also visible in its weekly earnings: the film earned Rs 218 crore in its first week, jumped to Rs 261.5 crore in the second, then Rs 189.3 crore in the third, followed by Rs 115.7 crore in the fourth week, and concluded its fifth week with Rs 56.35 crore.
Industry experts point out that Dhurandhar remains a favorite among audiences, even in its sixth week, bolstered by strategic ticket discounts and strong word-of-mouth recommendations. This consistent weekday success is nearly unprecedented, highlighting the deep emotional connection the film has cultivated with viewers.
Featuring Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar is inspired by real events, showcasing a fictional character thought to be based on Major Mohit Sharma, a heroic soldier of India. The film delves into complex socio-political issues and ethnic relations in Pakistan, weaving an engaging narrative that intertwines action with national pride. Directed by Aditya Dhar, whose previous work includes Uri: The Surgical Strike, this film marks a powerful comeback, evolving a new cinematic language focused on intense nationalism and authentic storytelling.
This sustained success at the box office, combined with its compelling storyline and strong performances, cements Dhurandhar’s status as one of the year’s major blockbusters. Audiences continue to stream into theaters, affirming the film’s impactful message and cinematic execution week after week.
