Fans of Demon Slayer are more excited than ever after the release of Infinity Castle, the latest movie in the hit anime series. The film has already broken records in cinemas around the world, but many people are asking the same question: When will it be available to watch at home on Crunchyroll or Netflix?
At the moment, the answer is not very simple. The movie is a huge success in theaters, and that has changed how soon it might arrive on streaming platforms. Here’s everything we know right now.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle begins the final chapter of the famous manga. Instead of making a TV season, the creators decided to bring the story to life as a trilogy of movies.
The first part, titled Akaza Returns, came out in Japan on July 18, 2025.
Soon after, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Releasing brought it to cinemas in the U.S., Europe, and Asia during August 2025.
In just a few weeks, it smashed several box office records, proving that the Demon Slayer craze is far from over.
But this success has also led to something unexpected — a longer wait for streaming.
Crunchyroll executives have made it clear that the movie will not be released online this year. Instead, it will remain exclusive to cinemas for the rest of 2025.
Mitchel Berger, a top executive at Crunchyroll, even said:
“If you want to see it in 2025, you have to see it in theaters.”
This statement confirms that there won’t be any surprise streaming release in 2025. The earliest window for streaming looks like 2026.
Many movies usually come to streaming within a few months of their cinema release, so why is Infinity Castle different? The delay is part of a clear strategy:
Big Theater Earnings
The movie is still making a lot of money in theaters. Keeping it there longer means higher profits.
Special Cinema Experience
By staying exclusive to theaters, the film feels like a “big event” instead of just another release online.
Complicated Streaming Deals
Platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix must negotiate streaming rights across different countries, which takes time.
Building Excitement for Sequels
Since this is only Part 1 of three movies, delaying streaming keeps fans excited while the team prepares for Parts 2 and 3.
Although no date is confirmed, most experts believe Crunchyroll will be the first to stream Infinity Castle.
Looking at past anime films, the streaming release may come in early 2026, possibly between January and March.
Crunchyroll already owns the international rights to Demon Slayer, making it the most likely platform to stream the movie first.
Fans who already subscribe to Crunchyroll will probably be the first to enjoy the film at home.
Netflix is more complicated. While it does have older Demon Slayer seasons in some countries, it is not the main distributor of the movies.
Experts think that Infinity Castle might not appear on Netflix until 2027 or later.
The release will depend on how long Crunchyroll holds exclusivity and whether Netflix can negotiate a deal afterward.
Even if Netflix does get it, the release may not be global at once. Some regions might see it earlier than others.
So if you are waiting only for Netflix, you might have to be very patient.
The long wait doesn’t mean fans are left with nothing to do. Here are some ways to keep the Demon Slayer spirit alive:
Watch in Theaters: Many countries are still showing Infinity Castle. Seeing it on the big screen is the only way right now.
Rewatch Past Seasons: Both Crunchyroll and Netflix have earlier Demon Slayer arcs available.
Follow Anime Events: Keep an eye on major events like Anime Expo, Jump Festa, and Crunchyroll Expo. Important updates about Parts 2 and 3 may be announced there.
Explore Manga and Merch: Fans can dive into the manga’s final arc or collect new merchandise while waiting.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has already earned its place as one of the biggest anime hits of this decade. But for now, the only way to enjoy it is in theaters. Streaming is expected to start on Crunchyroll in 2026, while Netflix fans may have to wait until 2027 or beyond.
With two more films on the way, the excitement is only growing. So if you get the chance, grab your ticket, buy some popcorn, and enjoy Infinity Castle on the big screen — the way it was meant to be seen.
