Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched flight operations from Dehradun to three significant cities: Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Amritsar, marking a pivotal moment for Uttarakhand's tourism industry. The inaugural event, held at Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport, saw CM Dhami ceremoniously lighting a lamp and cutting a cake to kick off the new services.

In his address, CM Dhami emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing transportation accessibility throughout Uttarakhand, ensuring convenience and ease for residents and visitors alike. He highlighted the state's efforts to bolster air connectivity, acknowledging the impact it would have on tourism and economic growth.

The launch of these flight services signifies a significant milestone in Uttarakhand's journey towards strengthening its air infrastructure. CM Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for their support in realizing this vision.

Prior to this development, Uttarakhand had already initiated air connectivity between Dehradun and Pithoragarh, as well as helicopter services from Haldwani to Champawat, Munsiyari, and Pithoragarh. During the event, CM Dhami personally interacted with passengers traveling to Ayodhya, extending his best wishes for their journey. The chanting of "Jai Shri Ram" added a spiritual touch to the occasion, reflecting the cultural significance of the destination.

Meanwhile, Ayodhya recently welcomed its first airport, Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, 2023, marking a significant step towards boosting connectivity and tourism in the region.
