Bitcoin MENA 2025: Abu Dhabi Hosts Global Crypto Leaders

Abu Dhabi witnessed a major gathering of crypto enthusiasts and industry leaders as the Bitcoin MENA 2025 conference concluded after two intensive days of discussions, debates, and innovation showcases. Co-organised by ADNEC Group and BTC Inc, the event drew 234 speakers from around the world to explore the evolving landscape of Bitcoin and decentralised finance.

The headline keynote, delivered by Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Strategy, framed Bitcoin as “digital capital” and “digital gold.” Highlighting its growing acceptance in the United States, he noted that several major banks now issue credit against Bitcoin and derivatives. Saylor urged the Middle East to pioneer Bitcoin-backed banking solutions and advanced financial infrastructure.

A fireside chat featuring Binance founder CZ and Brandon Green, CEO of BTC Inc, offered insights into shifting global attitudes toward crypto. CZ observed that governments are now moving from questioning crypto’s existence to exploring adoption strategies. He emphasised the current Bitcoin cycle is unique, marked by increasing institutional participation bridging the gap between retail adoption and Wall Street involvement.

Across four stages, attendees explored a wide range of topics including mining, digital assets, tokenisation, stablecoins, and real-world applications. Notable voices included Yoni Assia of eToro, John Koudounis of Calamos Investments, and Marwan Al Zarouni of Dubai Blockchain Center. Exhibitors showcased advanced mining solutions, exchange platforms, and self-custody tools from top industry brands like Crypto.com, Bitmain, and Antalpha.

A standout addition this year was the Bitcoin for Corporations Symposium, designed to guide CFOs and finance leaders in adopting Bitcoin as a reserve asset. The sessions highlighted that corporate Bitcoin acquisition is currently nearly four times faster than new coin issuance. Several product launches also took place, including Safebox, a self-custody solution for institutions earning Bitcoin yield, and Roxom’s stock exchange fully denominated and settled in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin MENA is set to return in 2026 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi Marina Hall, with a focus on investment, regulatory frameworks, and innovation as the Middle East strengthens its role in the global digital asset ecosystem.
