Bhumi Pednekar impressed fashion lovers once again with one of her most memorable and graceful looks at the Global Peace Honours 2025. The actor appeared on the red carpet wearing a dazzling yellow Mashroo silk saree from Ekaya Banaras, showing how traditional Indian fashion can remain beautiful, strong, and stylish in a modern setting. Her outfit stood out as a perfect example of mixing heritage with contemporary taste.
Bhumi’s saree was crafted with rich yellow tones, a color that immediately drew attention and complemented the bright red carpet. The luxurious drape featured elegant gold motifs and a carefully embroidered border, raising the saree’s grand appeal. The Mashroo silk saree is priced at ₹62,975, reflecting the fine craftsmanship and textile heritage behind the fabric. She paired it with a mustard yellow handwoven blouse priced at ₹24,975 and a canary yellow silk shawl worth ₹14,975. Each piece added layers of charm to the overall look.
The actor chose to style the saree in a classic way, pleating the palla in the front while draping the shawl neatly across her shoulder. This balanced the timeless elegance of the saree with the structured, modern design of the blouse. She completed the look with a golden choker, delicate studs, a tiny bindi, and natural makeup, which kept the entire appearance soft and refined. One of the most interesting elements of her outfit was an antique folding fan that she carried as an accessory, adding a unique touch that set her look apart from others. Her hair was parted neatly to one side, continuing the theme of simplicity and poise. The styling showed that Indian fashion can be powerful even without excess decoration.
Bhumi’s appearance also served as a reminder of the value of India’s handloom traditions. At a time when many global fashion trends aim to push bold and futuristic looks, she proved that Indian textiles and weaving traditions still carry unmatched beauty, depth, and history. Her outfit highlighted the idea that some of the strongest and most impressive fashion statements come from the cultural roots of the country itself.
The fabric she wore, Mashroo, has a long history in India. According to cultural reports, the Mashroo textile was originally created for Muslim communities who believed that pure silk should not touch the skin. To solve this, skilled weavers combined silk and cotton threads, making a fabric that felt like cotton on the inside but looked like silk on the outside. The word “Mashroo” itself means “this is allowed,” as the design respected religious beliefs while still offering elegance and luxury.
Mandvi in Gujarat is known as the center of Mashroo weaving, and over generations, both Hindus and Muslims have contributed to the craft. Cotton was produced by farming communities like the Ahir Patels, while Rabari and Ahir women added embroidery and mirror work to make the fabric even more special. The tradition not only created clothing but also connected different groups and celebrated shared artistic skills.
Bhumi Pednekar’s recent appearance is an example of how celebrities can inspire a renewed appreciation for traditional fabrics, cultural identity, and Indian craftsmanship. Her look managed to stand out without loud designs or dramatic choices, proving once again that elegance often lies in subtlety. Through her outfit, she reminded audiences that Indian fashion has a rich story and that modern glamor can still be deeply rooted in heritage.
