The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a substantial cash reward of INR 125 crore for the Indian cricket team, support staff, and coaching staff following their triumph in the T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit Sharma's men clinched the title with a decisive victory against South Africa in the final, ending an 11-year drought for an ICC title, the last being the 2013 Champions Trophy.
Elated with the team's performance, the BCCI allocated INR 125 crore for the 42-member contingent that traveled to the United States of America and the West Indies for the tournament. This prize money is set to be distributed among the players, coaching staff, and other support personnel in recognition of their hard work and success.

The distribution of the T20 World Cup 2024 prize money is detailed as follows:
- Each of the 15 squad members will receive INR 5 crore, including those who did not play a single game during the tournament.
- The four reserve players will be awarded INR 2.5 crore each.
- India’s head coach Rahul Dravid will receive INR 5 crore, equivalent to the main team players.
- Each member of the coaching staff will receive INR 1 crore.
- Backroom staff, such as physios and throwdown specialists, will earn INR 2 crore each.
- Selectors will be awarded INR 1 crore each.
This reward is a significant increase compared to previous ICC title wins under MS Dhoni's leadership.
In 2013, when India won the Champions Trophy, the BCCI announced a prize money of INR 1 crore for each player, and the support staff received INR 30 lakh each.
For the 2011 ODI World Cup victory, the board initially announced INR 1 crore for each player but later revised it to INR 2 crore each. The support staff were awarded INR 50 lakh each, while the selectors received INR 25 lakh each.
Following the 2007 ICC World T20 win, the entire team was collectively rewarded a cumulative sum of INR 12 crore.
The T20 World Cup 2024 reward distribution reflects the BCCI's appreciation of the team's effort and achievements, as well as the evolving standards of recognition and compensation in Indian cricket. The substantial prize money not only celebrates the players' success but also acknowledges the crucial roles played by the coaching and support staff in achieving this historic victory.
