Tomorrow, the Kingdom of Bahrain will celebrate its 54th National Day and the 26th year of King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa’s reign, an event observed annually on December 16. This celebration comes as Bahrain experiences profound developmental progress under the King’s commendable leadership.
Bahrain shares robust historical ties with Oman, reinforced through collaborative efforts in political, economic, social, and cultural arenas. The relationship continues to flourish under the guiding vision of both nations’ leadership, fostering integration and mutual prosperity. Significant advancements have been made in key areas including economic growth, education, energy, logistics, and sustainable development.
For the year 2025, Bahrain recorded a GDP growth of 2.5%. The nation has made strides in education by hosting the UNESCO award and establishing technology-centric schools. In the realm of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Bahrain achieved an impressive score of 97.5 points in the 2025 Communications and Technology Index, positioning it fifth among Arab nations.
The economic and trade relationships between Bahrain and Oman are thriving, with trade exceeding USD 1.4 billion. Bahraini investments in Oman have approached nearly USD 1.25 billion, marked by 876 Bahraini enterprises actively engaged across various sectors and the issuance of 1,200 investment licenses to Bahraini citizens. Cooperative ventures between entrepreneurs of the two nations comprise 550 partnerships, alongside approximately 700 Bahraini investors with shares in companies on the Muscat Stock Exchange.
The observance of Bahrain’s National Day is an opportunity to celebrate its accomplishments, show allegiance to leadership, and pursue continued progress in all developmental spheres. Both Bahrain and Oman are poised to further solidify collaboration, promote economic advancement, and enhance social and cultural growth in the upcoming years.
