Directed by Kalees, the action-thriller "Baby John" had initially made waves thanks to its star-studded cast and aggressive marketing campaigns. Featuring Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav, and special appearances by Salman Khan and Sanya Malhotra, the film was highly anticipated. Despite the heavy promotion, the film's box office earnings on Day 2 have fallen short of expectations, sparking concerns over its long-term performance.
"Baby John," which hit theatres on December 25, started strong with impressive opening day collections. On its release day, the film managed to rake in Rs 11.25 crore in India alone. Its worldwide collection on Day 1 stood at an impressive Rs 16 crore. However, things took a sharp turn on the following day.
According to early trade estimates, "Baby John" saw a significant decline in its second-day earnings, grossing just Rs 4.5 crore in India. This was a drastic drop compared to its first-day performance, bringing the total net earnings to approximately Rs 15.75 crore. The steep fall in revenue raises questions about how the film will perform in the coming days, especially with stiff competition from other movie releases.

Industry insiders suggest that the movie's success now largely depends on the audience's word-of-mouth reviews and its performance over the weekend. It remains to be seen whether the film can regain momentum in the coming days, or if this drop signifies a larger trend of diminishing interest.
"Baby John" Day 2 Box Office Collection:
On the second day of its release, the movie saw a notable dip in attendance. The total Hindi occupancy rate on Day 2 was just 11.09%, with most of the audience showing up for the night shows. As per Sacnilk, the movie earned around Rs 3.9 crore (net) in India on Day 2. The morning shows saw a mere 5.85% occupancy, while the afternoon shows attracted 11.23%, and the nighttime shows saw the highest turnout at 11.09%.
With the film's performance on the decline, the next few days will be critical to its overall earnings. Industry experts suggest that it is now more important than ever for the movie to maintain strong attendance over the weekend, especially as word-of-mouth plays a crucial role in determining a film's box-office journey.
About "Baby John":
"Baby John" is directed by Kalees, and the screenplay is based on the Tamil blockbuster "Theri" starring Vijay. The film's story revolves around a police officer, portrayed by Varun Dhawan, who adopts a false identity to protect his daughter. As her life is put in danger, he is forced to confront his own turbulent past. The movie, which promises intense action and emotion, also features an exceptional ensemble cast, including Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and veterans like Jackie Shroff and Rajpal Yadav. Notably, Salman Khan and Sanya Malhotra make rare cameo appearances.
The film was produced by Atlee, who is well-known for his direction of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Jawan." With its gripping storyline and star power, "Baby John" had all the elements to be a box office hit. However, its current trajectory suggests that the film may face a difficult road ahead if it doesn’t pick up pace over the next few days.
"Baby John" was released in theatres on December 25 and will likely continue to be a topic of discussion as more box office numbers come in. As of now, the movie's ability to compete against other films in the market will be tested in the coming days, and its success or failure could depend largely on its ability to connect with audiences and maintain strong word-of-mouth.
