The affected area is near the border with Tibet, and at least 57 workers who were involved in road construction in the region are believed to have been trapped by the sudden burst of the glacier. Nilesh Anand Bharne, a senior police officer, confirmed the situation to the.

He shared that, out of the 57 workers, 10 have been rescued in critical condition and have been sent to an army camp near Mana village for medical treatment. Rescue operations have been challenging as the area is experiencing heavy snowfall, making it difficult for rescue workers to reach the exact location where the remaining 47 individuals are feared trapped.

Efforts to rescue the trapped workers are ongoing, with authorities working around the clock to clear the snow and reach those still stuck. The situation remains tense as teams continue their mission, but progress is slow due to the harsh weather conditions.
