Dubai: In a time when the planet faces mounting environmental challenges, art is emerging as a powerful medium for raising awareness and inspiring change. In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, Art4you Gallery hosted a thought-provoking and sustainability-focused event titled “SAVE OUR ENVIRONMENT – A Visual Exploration of Humanity’s Connection with Nature.”
Held on June 6, 2025, at the tranquil and inspiring Mehromah Art House in Jumeirah, Dubai, the event brought together a vibrant community of artists and environmental advocates, merging creativity with ecological awareness.
Under the visionary artistic direction of Jesno Jackson, and with the dedicated support of Rengi Cherian, the event served as both a heartfelt tribute to nature and a powerful call to action. Emphasizing eco-friendly materials, sustainable art practices, and collaborative community engagement, the initiative aimed to build a meaningful bridge between artistic expression and environmental responsibility.
Eco-Friendly Live Art: Painting the Desert with Purpose
A standout element of the event was the Eco-Friendly Live Art segment, where participating artists painted on specially crafted cactus-shaped wooden panels. These panels symbolized the UAE’s resilient desert ecosystem — a powerful reminder of nature’s ability to thrive under challenging conditions.
The cactus, known for its strength and adaptability, served as a metaphor for sustainability and endurance. Artists drew inspiration from iconic nature-focused painters such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Paul Cezanne, Claude Monet, George Seurat, Thomas Cole, Gustave Klimt, Henri Rousseau, Winslow Homer, and Vincent van Gogh, while using non-toxic, earth-friendly materials and sustainably sourced wood.
A powerful highlight of the event was the collective creativity of 26 talented artists who painted live, bringing the themes of sustainability and nature to life through their brushes. Each artist contributed their unique perspective and style, transforming eco-friendly materials into vibrant visual stories. The live art segment featured remarkable contributions by Maria Aamer, Bhumika Maniyar, Asma Syed, Parvin Fathi, Maria Komal Abie, Parisa Keramati, Sophie Bekmurzaeva, Mozhgan Afrisham, Mehboobeh Shahnavas, Sofiia Babina, Shakiba Rabiei, Alzbeta Znamenska, Elyazia Aljassmi, Hanieh Hoseini, Roya Vahidi, Jaimee Felysse Reyes, Jesno Jackson, Chitra Sidhakaran, Shelina Khimji, Noreen Nawab, Thomas Antony, Viktorija Zujeva, Zara Bekmurzaeva, Sarri Tolarba, Ariella Livshits, and Lama Lahham. Their artistic passion and dedication not only elevated the event but also echoed its core message—to reconnect with nature and champion sustainability through art.
This creative segment encouraged artists to reflect on the environmental impact of their tools and techniques, emphasizing that the act of art-making itself can align with conservation efforts.
“Nature Jewel” – A Watercolour Tribute to Nature’s Fragility
Running alongside the live art session was the serene “Nature Jewel” watercolour experience. Here, artists delicately painted the pomegranate—a symbol of nature’s vibrancy and fragility—using watercolour, a medium known for its minimal environmental impact.
Water, both as a medium and a theme, created a poetic connection between the artist and the subject, emphasizing the interconnectedness of life and the urgent need to protect the natural world we so often overlook.
Sustainability at the Heart – A Vision by Jesno Jackson
At the core of the event was Jesno Jackson, founder and curator of Art4you Gallery, whose mission combines art, education, and environmental advocacy. Jesno believes that creativity has the power to shape perspectives and spark meaningful change.
“This event was our way of giving back to the Earth through the creative process,” said Jesno. “It’s not just about showcasing art; it’s about showcasing purpose, connection, and responsibility.”
Every element of the event—from the responsibly sourced materials to collaborations with eco-conscious partners—was thoughtfully curated to uphold sustainability. The gallery also prioritized educational outreach and sparked conversations on climate action through visual storytelling.
Amplifying the Message Through Collaboration
The event’s impact was amplified by prominent media partners including The Sustainable Times, DXB News Network, GCC News, DXB24LIVE, CBH Times, She The Leader, Middle East Bulletin, and Art4you Magazine, who helped carry the message of sustainability and creativity to broader audiences through real-time coverage and meaningful storytelling.
Gracing the event were esteemed guests and dignitaries such as Claudia Pinto, Bhumika Maniyar, Peter Farrington, Anna Koterla & Lumeya ESG Solutions, and Chandra Goyal, whose presence added cultural and environmental significance to the initiative.
As a symbol of renewal and personal connection with nature, The Green Revolution, the event’s official Sustainability Partner, gifted potted plants to all guests and participants. This thoughtful gesture reflected the event’s core values and served as a lasting reminder of the role each individual plays in nurturing the Earth.
Where Art Meets Action
Through impactful initiatives like “SAVE OUR ENVIRONMENT,” Art4you Gallery continues to champion environmental awareness and cultural sustainability. This immersive event transformed art into advocacy, inviting everyone to see, feel, and reimagine our connection with the planet.
As we marked World Environment Day, the gallery extended a powerful message: saving the Earth begins with how we perceive it, speak of it—and how we paint it.
