Amarak Chemicals FZC, an associate company of the Aries Group of Companies, has officially started operations at its new fully automated sulphur manufacturing facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), Dubai.
The new plant is designed to strengthen the supply of sulphur-based agricultural products by using Jebel Ali’s integrated logistics network. The facility will produce up to 60,000 metric tonnes per year of sulphur bentonite and other sulphur-allied products. These products are mainly used in agriculture to support soil health, crop productivity, and sustainable farming.
The plant is fully automated and uses digital process controls to improve productivity, maintain precision in manufacturing, and ensure better operator safety.
The facility was inaugurated by Shri B. G. Krishnan, Consul (Economic, Trade & Commerce), Consulate General of India, Dubai. The event was attended by Saoud AlAwadhi, Director – Sales, Jafza, along with the Board of Directors of the Aries Group of Companies.
Customers from seven countries also attended the inauguration and expressed interest in signing long-term supply agreements with Amarak, showing rising global demand for high-quality agricultural inputs.
Commenting on the development, Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO, Parks & Zones, DP World GCC, said Jafza continues to grow as a major hub for chemicals and agribusiness. He added that the new sulphur manufacturing plant will help improve access to essential farm inputs, support farmers, and strengthen food supply chains across the region and beyond.
Amarak currently exports to more than 18 countries, including key markets such as Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand, from the UAE. The new Jafza plant will further increase the company’s ability to meet global demand through a strong and reliable supply chain.
The facility will also support exports to India under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Under this agreement, Amarak can manufacture more products in the UAE and export them duty-free to India, while also serving other international markets from one central production hub.
Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, Group Chairman of the Aries Group of Companies, said the investment reflects the company’s long-term plan to build world-class manufacturing in agricultural inputs and become a preferred global supplier of consistent and innovative fertilizers. He also said that combining Indian manufacturing expertise with the UAE’s industrial ecosystem can help serve farmers worldwide.
Dr. Mirchandani added that Jafza plays a key role in the company’s global expansion plans by reducing logistics costs, improving speed to market, and providing easier access to important regions.
Amarak has also secured long-term partnerships with leading sulphur suppliers in the UAE to ensure stable raw material supply, consistent quality, and uninterrupted production. The project highlights growing industrial collaboration between India and the UAE, bringing together Indian product expertise and the UAE’s advanced infrastructure and logistics strength.
