Agartala is set to take a leap in air connectivity with the launch of a direct flight service to Bagdogra, starting October 26. The new route promises smoother travel for passengers heading to popular destinations in North Bengal, including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Mirik, and even Sikkim.
The airline will operate a 180-seater Boeing aircraft daily, making travel both convenient and comfortable. Passengers departing Bagdogra can expect a 4:30 PM takeoff, reaching Agartala by 5:40 PM. The return flight from Agartala is scheduled at 6:10 PM, landing in Bagdogra at 7:20 PM.

Ticket bookings for the new service have already begun, with fares designed to remain affordable, making family vacations to the hills more accessible than ever. This strategic move also aligns with the winter flight schedule, allowing travelers to plan trips during the peak tourist season.
While the launch is a major boost for Northeast connectivity, Air India Express will temporarily suspend its Agartala-Guwahati service. Airport officials emphasized that other carriers, including IndiGo and Akasa Air, will continue to operate on the Agartala-Guwahati route, ensuring uninterrupted travel for regular passengers.
With this addition, Air India Express effectively strengthens the aerial link between Northeast India’s key destinations. Travelers can now look forward to experiencing the sunrise at Tiger Hill in Darjeeling or exploring the scenic hills of Gangtok with greater ease and comfort.
