Apple has announced the dates for its big Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025. The event will happen from June 9 to June 13 at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. Some people will attend in person, but others can watch online for free from anywhere in the world.
WWDC is a yearly event where Apple talks to app makers about new software and tools. Apple’s engineers will show updates for iPhones, iPads, Mac computers, Apple Watches, and Vision Pro. It is a chance for developers to learn about the latest technology so they can update their apps before Apple releases new software later in the year.

Apple's big launch events usually get a lot of attention from the public, but WWDC is mostly for developers. The event starts with a two-hour video presentation hosted by Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook. This is where Apple shows the new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and other software. In the past, WWDC had live presentations, but now Apple records them ahead of time and plays them at its headquarters.
After the keynote, developers can attend workshops, either online or in person. These workshops let developers learn directly from Apple engineers and get help in updating their apps to work smoothly with new software.
At WWDC 2025, Apple is expected to introduce iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 15, and updates for Apple Watch and Vision Pro. There is also talk that Apple may show a brand-new operating system for smart home devices. People believe Apple is making a smart home device like Amazon’s Echo Show, and while Apple may not release the device yet, it could show the software that will run it.
The biggest thing people will watch for at WWDC 2025 is Apple’s progress in artificial intelligence (AI). Last year, Apple introduced “Apple Intelligence,” which included smart features powered by AI. Some of these features have been released, but one of the most important ones—a smarter version of Siri—has not arrived yet.
Apple promised big improvements to Siri, but many users are still waiting for the changes. Reports say Apple has made some leadership changes, removing the person in charge of Siri and giving the job to someone who previously worked on the Vision Pro. This has led to questions about whether Apple was too ambitious with its AI promises and if it will be ready to show a better Siri at WWDC 2025.
Apple is facing strong competition in AI from Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. Many people see WWDC 2025 as an important moment for Apple to show its plans for AI and prove it can keep up with other companies. Developers and tech experts will be watching closely to see if Apple delivers on its promises.
