On Friday morning, the 24th evacuation flight landed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), bringing 81 injured people and cancer patients from Gaza. The flight was made possible with the help of the World Health Organization (WHO). Nearly half of the patients were children.
The patients left from Ramon Airport in Israel and crossed into Egypt through the Karam Abu Salam border. From there, they were flown to the UAE to receive advanced medical care. Around 107 family members accompanied them on the journey.
Helping Gaza Patients Get Medical Care
This evacuation follows the orders of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He had earlier promised to provide medical treatment in UAE hospitals for 1,000 Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza.

When the flight arrived, medical teams were ready to help. The most serious cases were immediately transferred to hospitals for urgent treatment. The rest of the patients and their families were taken to Emirates Humanitarian City, where they will stay while receiving care.
UAE’s Commitment to Supporting Gaza
This mission is part of the UAE’s ongoing support for the people of Gaza. The country has been working to reduce the suffering of Palestinians, especially children, women, and the elderly, during this difficult time.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, said the UAE is fully committed to helping injured Palestinians. He explained that by organizing these medical evacuations, the UAE is showing its dedication to providing quality healthcare and offering humanitarian support during this crisis.
Al Shamsi also said that the UAE will continue to work closely with the United Nations and other international organizations to increase efforts to ease the suffering in Gaza.
UAE’s Ongoing Humanitarian Efforts
Since the start of the conflict, the UAE has been actively helping Gaza residents. The country built a field hospital in southern Gaza to treat the injured. It also set up a floating hospital on a ship at Egypt’s Al-Arish Port.
Additionally, the UAE has provided hospitals in Gaza with medical equipment, medicines, and supplies. From the beginning of the crisis, the UAE quickly sent humanitarian aid, including food and essential items, to support the people of Gaza.
These efforts highlight the UAE’s dedication to standing by the people of Gaza, offering them relief and medical care during these challenging times.
