Virat Kohli Accused by Gautam Gambhir in IPL Dispute: 'Should've Ended This

Veteran Indian cricketer Amit Mishra revealed that Gautam Gambhir took the initiative to mend fences with Virat Kohli following their heated on-field altercation during the Indian Premier League (IPL). The incident occurred during IPL 2023, when Gambhir, then mentoring Lucknow Super Giants, engaged in a verbal clash with Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore, alongside Afghanistan's Naveen-ul-Haq, resulting in penalties for all involved.

By IPL 2024, however, a significant turnaround was observed as Gambhir and Kohli were seen embracing and engaging in friendly conversations, signaling an end to their rivalry. Speaking on YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra's show 'Unplugged', Amit Mishra praised Gambhir for taking the first step towards reconciliation, mentioning that it was Gambhir who approached Kohli, inquiring about his well-being and family.

"Gautam showed great magnanimity by reaching out to Kohli first. It should have ideally been Kohli who initiated resolving the feud," Amit Mishra remarked, emphasizing the role Gambhir played in defusing tensions.

Reflecting on changes he's observed in Kohli over time, Mishra commented on how fame and power can alter perspectives, contrasting Kohli's evolution with the consistent demeanor of Rohit Sharma, whom Mishra described as unchanged despite his stature.

"Rohit remains grounded and approachable whenever I meet him during IPL or other events. In contrast, I've noticed a significant transformation in Virat. Our interactions had dwindled, possibly influenced by perceptions around fame," Mishra shared candidly.

Looking ahead, Mishra noted the dynamics between Kohli and Gambhir as they collaborate within the Indian cricket setup, despite Kohli's recent retirement from T20Is, hinting at his continued presence in ODIs and Tests.
