Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Chairman of the Supply and Transport Committee, has reaffirmed that the country’s transport system and supply chains are operating efficiently and without disruption.
He emphasized that the UAE continues to maintain a resilient and integrated framework that ensures the smooth flow of goods and services while preserving market stability. This reflects the nation’s strong preparedness and ability to respond effectively to evolving regional developments.
Integrated National Framework Driving Efficiency
Al Mazrouei highlighted that the UAE’s logistics and supply chain system is built on a comprehensive national framework led by the Supply and Transport Committee. The framework focuses on ensuring continuous supply flow while regulating freight movement in alignment with the country’s strategic priorities.
The committee plays a key role in designing flexible operational and regulatory mechanisms. These include monitoring shipment movements, optimizing distribution routes, and coordinating closely with federal and local authorities to enhance logistics efficiency.
Dedicated National Team and Strategic Measures
To further strengthen operations, a specialized national team has been established to oversee freight activities across the UAE. This team focuses on:
Enhancing alternative transport routes
Monitoring market conditions in real-time
Ensuring uninterrupted availability of essential goods
Improving response speed during emergencies
Additionally, the committee has introduced regulatory and oversight measures such as assessing essential goods demand, updating priority lists, and implementing integrated operational plans in coordination with port operators.
Ports and Maritime Sector Show High Efficiency
Al Mazrouei noted that UAE ports are performing at high operational capacity, supported by advanced management systems and strict regulatory compliance. Vessel movements are being managed efficiently according to approved priorities, ensuring seamless cargo handling.
He also confirmed that maritime assets on the eastern coast are fully operational, serving as a strategic gateway to maintain trade continuity and strengthen logistics resilience.
Road, Rail and Logistics Enhancements
The UAE has implemented an integrated operational plan for road and rail transport, including:
Reorganization of transport routes
Optimization of truck operating hours
Improved connectivity with storage and distribution centers
These measures are helping accelerate cargo movement and enhance overall logistics efficiency.
Regional Coordination and Trade Continuity
The UAE continues to strengthen regional cooperation, particularly with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, to facilitate smoother cross-border movement of goods and reinforce supply chain resilience.
Authorities are also closely monitoring vessel activity within UAE waters to ensure high standards of maritime safety and security.
Strong Performance Indicators
Demonstrating operational strength, UAE ports have handled over 25,000 containers since March 2026, highlighting the system’s capacity to maintain steady trade flows even under challenging conditions.
