The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued comprehensive directives for service providers catering to domestic Hajj pilgrims, underscoring the critical importance of adhering to strict meal schedules during the upcoming Hajj season.
The ministry has outlined specific meal distribution times for pilgrims at the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, ensuring that pilgrims are entitled to compensation for any delays in meal service. The designated meal service times are as follows: breakfast on the day of Arafat will be served from after the dawn prayer until 10 am, lunch from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, and dinner at Muzdalifah immediately after the pilgrims' arrival from Arafat.
Furthermore, meal times on the Day of Tarwiyah and the Days of Tashreeq have been stipulated as follows: breakfast from 5 am to 10 am, lunch from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, and dinner from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm.
In the event of delays in meal services, pilgrims will be entitled to compensation, and the compensation rates may double if the delay exceeds the specified corrective period. Specifically, compensation rates include 5% of the total package value for lunch delays on the day of Arafat, and up to 3%, not exceeding SR100, for delays in other meals.
In instances of meal service failure at the holy sites, the compensation structure is as follows: 5% of the total package value for significant delays, with specific amounts set for each meal based on the severity and timing of the delay.
Service providers are also mandated to adhere to contract provisions, with a stipulated two-hour window to address any meal provision issues. Pilgrims affected by such issues will receive compensation ranging from 1% of the total package value, with specific caps for different meals throughout the entire Hajj period.
This detailed directive emphasizes the Saudi Ministry's commitment to ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of pilgrims during their sacred journey, reinforcing accountability and service standards for the benefit of the pilgrims participating in the Hajj pilgrimage
