Egypt has launched a new Wi-Fi calling service that will help people make phone calls and send messages using Wi-Fi instead of the regular mobile network. This will help people who live in areas with bad phone signals stay connected.

Minister Amr Talaat said this service will improve call quality, especially in places where it’s hard to get a mobile signal. He also explained that it took over a year of hard work to bring this service to life, with the help of mobile companies and the government working together.
The service has already started with major mobile companies like Telecom Egypt, Vodafone, e& Egypt, and Orange. This means people can now make clear calls using Wi-Fi, which is very helpful when the mobile network isn't working well.
The first phase of this service will be available in homes. Later, it will be available in public and business places too. By June 2025, most of Egypt will have 4G mobile network coverage.
Talaat also mentioned that Egypt is working on bringing 5G technology and eSIM cards, which will further improve phone services.
This new Wi-Fi calling service is an important step to make phone and internet services better for people in Egypt.
