The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has officially forwarded its investigation files concerning senior Armed Forces officials to the public prosecutor for review and possible action.
Confirming the submission, MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki noted that recommended charges have been included. He assured that updates will follow as the prosecution reaches decisions.
This action follows the recent capture of 23 individuals during significant operations, namely Ops Parasit and Ops Star. Included in those arrested were two senior officers and four high-ranking members of the Armed Forces.
Azam indicated that the investigation focuses on suspected corruption and misuse of power related to procurement processes and public fund allocations. It is reported that various companies associated with defence procurement contracts allegedly provided bribes.
These contracts are linked to the Armed Forces Welfare Fund and the Defence Ministry, heightening concerns due to their connection to national institutions.
Initiated on October 7, 2025, the investigation is considered highly sensitive due to the senior ranks of those involved. Azam highlighted the substantial public interest surrounding the case, especially regarding its potential effects on transparency, accountability, and public confidence in defence governance.
Authorities have reiterated their dedication to allowing the judicial process to proceed, affirming that all actions are in compliance with the law.
