ISRO Successfully Tests Cryogenic Engine for LVM3-M6 Mission Flight

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) shared exciting news on Saturday, announcing that it has successfully completed a critical test for the cryogenic engine of the LVM3-M6 rocket. The test was held at the ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu.

Flight acceptance tests are very important because they help check how well an engine and its parts work before they are used in a real mission. The LVM3, or Launch Vehicle Mark-3, is a medium-lift rocket that has three stages and was developed by ISRO to help send satellites into space.

ISRO explained that every mission needs the cryogenic engine to go through a "hot test" as part of the process to make sure it will work well in space. In the past, these tests were done at a special High Altitude Test (HAT) facility. The test durations there were limited to just 25 seconds.

But this time, there was a big improvement. For the first time, the cryogenic engine (called CE20) was tested for 100 seconds, which is four times longer than before. This test was done in non-vacuum conditions, meaning the engine was tested under real-world conditions, and ISRO used a new nozzle protection system to make sure everything went smoothly. This is an important development because it makes the engine even more reliable for future missions.

This successful test is a big step forward for ISRO and India's space program. It shows that the country's technology for cryogenic engines is becoming stronger and more advanced. With this test done, ISRO is now one step closer to launching the LVM3-M6 mission, which is expected to help India become even better at sending heavy satellites into space.
