Israeli Mall Stabbing Two Men Injured in Apparent Terrorist Attack

Two people were injured in what Israeli police described as a suspected "terror attack" at a mall in Karmiel, northern Israel, on Wednesday, as reported by Reuters. The attacker was reportedly killed during the incident.

Medics attending to the victims, both in their 20s, noted that one suffered serious injuries while the other remained conscious. Video footage shared on social media and viewed by Reuters depicted two men lying on the mall floor receiving urgent medical attention. One of them appeared in a green uniform, while a third man, not in uniform, lay nearby without medical aid.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack thus far.

The incident comes amidst heightened tensions in the region, with ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza in response to previous attacks. Violence has also surged in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, marked by military operations, settler violence, and Palestinian street assaults. In a separate incident in January, a Palestinian ramming attack in central Israel resulted in one fatality and 12 injuries.
