The European Commission is looking at its investigations into big companies like Apple, Meta, and Google. These companies have asked the new U.S. President, Donald Trump, to help because they think the European Union (EU) is being too tough on them. They believe the EU is being too strict with their rules.

The Commission might decide to change or reduce the investigations. They will review all the cases started since March 2024 under a law called the Digital Markets Act (DMA). The DMA was made to stop big tech companies from having too much power and to give smaller companies a fair chance in the market.
This law started in 2022 and has strict rules to control what big companies can do. It makes sure companies treat their customers fairly, keep the competition open, and make it easier for people to switch services.
While the review is happening, the Commission will pause any final decisions on the cases against Apple, Meta, and Google. This means the companies might not be fined yet. However, the investigations will still continue. The Commission is waiting for political advice before making any final decisions on these cases.
Apple, Meta, Google, and the European Commission have not yet said anything publicly about this review. This review could change how the European Union works with big tech companies and how they are allowed to operate.
The Digital Markets Act is meant to stop big companies from being too powerful and to make the digital world fairer for smaller companies and consumers. The review will decide how the rules will be followed in the future.
