Egypt Affirms Airspace Open, Air Navigation Uninterrupted

Egyptian Government Denies Emergency Closure of Airspace, Ensures Normal Operations

In response to rumors circulating through various media outlets and social media platforms regarding the purported emergency closure of Egyptian airspace on Sunday, the Media Centre of the Egyptian Cabinet issued a statement to categorically deny these claims. The center clarified that air navigation across all Egyptian airports is functioning normally and without any interruption.

Furthermore, the statement affirmed that all flights at Egyptian airports are continuing according to their usual schedules, with the exception of flights bound for countries that have closed their airspace due to ongoing regional events. Despite these restrictions, air traffic within Egyptian airspace remains unaffected.

Regarding EgyptAir flights, the company has announced the suspension of its services to and from airports in Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon exclusively. This decision is attributed to the closure of airspace in these countries. However, flights to other destinations are operating as scheduled, maintaining continuity in EgyptAir's flight operatio ns.

By issuing this clarification, the Egyptian government aims to dispel any misinformation and reassure the public and aviation stakeholders of the continued normalcy of air travel operations within the country.
