Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and a member of both the Dubai Council and The Executive Council of Dubai, had the honor of presenting the winner’s trophy to young tennis star Mirra Andreeva. The event marked the 25th anniversary of the women’s competition at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships, making it a very special occasion.

This prestigious tournament is a major event in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 series and was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The final ceremony took place at the famous Centre Court of the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium, bringing an exciting end to a week of top-level tennis. The competition saw 36 of the world's top 40 female players battle it out for victory.
Mirra Andreeva shined in the women’s singles final, playing a fantastic match against Clara Tauson. The stadium was filled with excited fans who witnessed the young Russian player’s impressive performance. Andreeva showed incredible skill and determination, winning in straight sets (7-6, 6-1). This victory was a huge achievement for the teenager and confirmed her place among the rising stars of women’s tennis.
The grand event was attended by several distinguished guests, including His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Tennis Federation; Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director of Dubai Duty-Free and Chairman of the Tournament Organising Committee; Nasser Youssef Al Marzouqi, General Secretary of the UAE Tennis Federation; Salah Tahlak, Deputy Managing Director of Dubai Duty-Free and Tournament Director of the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships; and Sinead El Sibai, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Dubai Duty-Free.
Over the course of the week, the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships once again proved why it is considered one of the top international tennis tournaments. The competition featured some of the best male and female tennis players in the world, and fans enjoyed watching incredible matches filled with skill, energy, and sportsmanship.
In the doubles, final, top-seeded players Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend showed excellent teamwork to defeat Jelena Ostapenko and Hsieh Su-Wei. They won in straight sets (7-6, 6-4), securing their place as champions in the doubles category.
Ramesh Cidambi spoke about the success of the tournament, saying, “The Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships has always been known for its high standards, and this year was no different. The WTA tournament was full of exciting moments, amazing performances, and a fantastic atmosphere. The 25th edition of this event was truly special.” He also thanked the players and officials for making the tournament such a grand success and looked forward to welcoming them back next year.
Salah Tahlak also expressed his joy about the event, saying, “It has been a fantastic week of women’s tennis. Congratulations to all the winners. A huge thank you to the media, the fans, and everyone who worked hard behind the scenes to make this tournament a success. The energy and support from the crowd made every match even more exciting.”
With another successful edition completed, the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships continues to be a world-class sporting event, attracting top tennis talent and thrilling audiences year after year.
