Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has expanded his real estate portfolio to the serene Georgia countryside with the acquisition of a historic 46-acre estate located just outside Atlanta. A Georgia-based company associated with Mr. Johnson's business managers in Los Angeles facilitated the purchase for an approximate sum of $9.5 million, as revealed by public property records. The 47-year-old former professional wrestler turned actor and producer, known for his roles in "Fast and the Furious," has yet to comment on the acquisition.
Situated in the picturesque town of Powder Springs, the centerpiece of the expansive property is a grand 14,000-square-foot megamansion boasting eight bedrooms, providing ample space for Mr. Johnson's family of five. Constructed in 2002, the main house showcases elegant features such as stone fireplaces, a custom wine cellar, and a backyard featuring a freeform, salt-water pool with a cabana. Jeff DeJarnett of Harry Norman Realtors represented the property, but declined to comment on the sale.
The architectural style of the residence draws inspiration from French country aesthetics, with partial brick and stone cladding on the exterior, large casement windows, and rustic interiors featuring exposed wood and stone elements. Noteworthy amenities include a charming wood-paneled library adorned with stained glass.
The estate also includes a fully equipped horse farm complete with a 12-stall barn and a riding arena featuring a viewing deck. Adding to its historical charm, the property includes an original 150-year-old farm house, repurposed as a caretaker's cottage, according to the listing details. The acquisition follows a significant life event for Johnson, who married his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, in Hawaii a few months prior to the real estate deal.
Notably, the purchase aligns with Mr. Johnson's broader plans, as he and his business partner and ex-wife, Dany Garcia, announced in September their intention to host a premier fitness conference named Atheticon in Atlanta, scheduled for October 2020. The diversified pursuits of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, both in entertainment and entrepreneurship, continue to make headlines.
