Air India Express had its first flight from Surat to Bangkok, and it was a big event. On the flight, many passengers noticed that a lot of alcohol was being sold. However, some of them complained that there wasn't enough liquor onboard, claiming that the supply had run out. The airline's officials responded by saying that there was enough alcohol and food on the flight.
The flight, which left on Friday, was operated by a Boeing 737-8 aircraft. There were 175 passengers and 6 crew members on board, and the plane can carry 176 people. The flight was almost full, and passengers were looking forward to the alcohol and food available during the journey.
Liquor is not allowed in Gujarat, the state where Surat is located, so selling alcohol on this flight was special. Even though some people said on social media that the alcohol ran out, the airline said it wasn't true. The officials stated that the alcohol stock was enough, and they explained that a passenger is typically allowed to have only 100 ml of liquor during the flight.

Onboard, passengers could buy a 50 ml bottle of Chivas Regal for Rs 600. They could also buy Red Label, Bacardi White Rum, or Beefeater Gin, each for Rs 400. There was also Bira Lager beer available in a 330 ml can, priced at Rs 400. For food, passengers could either order their meals before the flight or buy food during the flight.
This inaugural flight was a big step for Air India Express, as it was the first time the airline offered this route between Surat, a city in Gujarat, and Bangkok, Thailand.
