The Abu Dhabi Executive Council has issued a new resolution to support folk arts performances in the emirate. This resolution has led to the creation of the Abu Dhabi Folk Arts Committee, which will be chaired by His Excellency Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.

The committee includes representatives from several important organizations. These include the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the Department of Community Development, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the Abu Dhabi Folklore and Theatre Society, and the Al Ain Folklore and Heritage Society.

The main goal of the Abu Dhabi Folk Arts Committee is to protect and promote traditional Emirati folk arts. This includes popular performances like Al-Yowla, Al-Harbia, Al-Razfa, and Al-Ayyala, among others. The committee will develop a strategy to ensure that these performances are preserved for future generations.

The committee has several responsibilities. It will work on improving the quality of folk art performances by ensuring there are skilled and trained performers. It will also create systems to teach folk arts in schools and other places using official programs. Additionally, the committee will set rules for issuing permits, approvals, and licenses for individuals and groups who perform these folk arts.

Another important task for the committee is to oversee folk art performances at official events and celebrations. It will create standards to evaluate these performances and make sure they are followed. The committee will also organize awareness campaigns, programs, and workshops to help people understand the importance of folk arts as part of the traditional cultural heritage of the UAE.

Lastly, the committee will work to make folk arts more popular and appreciated by everyone. It will encourage people to enjoy these traditions, help train new performers, and suggest new laws or rules to support folk arts in the emirate.
