The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) has formalized a partnership with Adobe, marking a significant milestone in their efforts to advance Arabic language typography. This agreement was signed at the third International Congress of Arabic Publishing and Creative Industries, held at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

Under this partnership, Adobe will collaborate closely with ALC to delve into the intricate and future requirements for Arabic typography. This includes conducting extensive research on user experience with Adobe’s design-related products and gathering critical insights to guide future software development and improvements.

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the ALC, emphasized the importance of this collaboration: “The agreement with Adobe, a leading software developer, paves the way for enhanced cooperation aimed at overcoming key challenges in the widespread use of Arabic content. This aligns with our primary goal of promoting Arabic as a language of culture, science, and communication.”

Priscilla Knoble, Senior Director of International Strategy and Product Management at Adobe, echoed this sentiment: “Our collaboration with the ALC allows us to better understand the complex and evolving needs of Arabic language typography. In today's dynamic world, creatives often work in environments where Arabic, Latin, and other complex scripts need to be used together harmoniously in text-based design.”

The annual congress, organized by the ALC, gathered a distinguished group of experts from the creative economy, business leaders, publishing innovators, content creators, and creative talents. This event served as a platform to showcase the latest trends and innovations in the publishing industry.
