Emirates Group Announces Senior Roles for Seven UAE Nationals

Emirates Group, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, today announced a series of senior appointments aimed at enhancing the organization’s growth and fortifying its leadership team. These latest promotions and new appointments include seven UAE nationals, showcasing the company’s commitment to internal talent and leadership development.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointments, highlighting their significance in line with the company's escalating scope and ambitions. "The new roles are a testament to the scale and vision of our business. It’s particularly gratifying to see internal talent, including UAE nationals, stepping into these key positions. This aligns perfectly with Emirates Group's ongoing commitment to nurture top industry talent and to reflect Dubai’s strategic vision to excel in all our ventures," he stated.

The appointments are set to take effect in two phases, starting with July 8:

  1. Ali Mubarak Al Soori steps into the role of Chief Procurement and Facilities Officer.
  2. Ahmed Safa will serve as Head of Engineering and MRO.
  3. Badr Abbas is appointed Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo.
  4. Captain Mark Burtonwood will take on the role of Divisional Senior Vice President for Group Safety and Network Operations.
  5. Mostafa Karam has been named Divisional Senior Vice President for Customer Affairs and Service Audit.
  6. Yousuf Mohammad Ali is set to become Divisional Senior Vice President for Group Procurement and Logistics.
  7. David Broz steps into the role of Senior Vice President for Aeropolitical and Airline Industry Affairs.
  8. Devarajan Srinivasan is appointed Senior Vice President for Facilities and Asset Management.
  9. Mahmood Al Khaja will serve as Senior Vice President for Material Management and Repairs.
  10. Will Lofberg has been named Senior Vice President for International and Government Affairs.

On September 1, further strategic appointments include:

  • Shahreyar Nawabi will become CEO of Emirates Flight Catering.
  • Mahmood Ameen is appointed as Divisional Senior Vice President for Engineering Projects and Aircraft Procurement.

These strategic moves are part of Emirates Group's broader objective to remain a top choice employer in the aviation industry, consistently attracting and retaining the best talent while delivering superior products and services
