The championships are set to draw more than 800 young athletes from over 45 countries, competing across three distinct categories: Youth C (ages 12-13), Youth B (ages 14-15), and Youth A (ages 16-17). The UAE National Team, a strong contender in this year's competition, aims to surpass their impressive performance from last year, where they secured first place among Arab teams and fourth overall in the event.
His Excellency Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Al Hashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, President of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union, and Senior Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, extended his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for his unwavering support in advancing UAE sports. He also expressed deep appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his generous patronage, insightful guidance, and continuous encouragement, which have been instrumental in motivating athletes and ensuring the event's success.
His Excellency emphasized that the Crown Prince's patronage is vital in inspiring the athletes to excel and enhancing Abu Dhabi's reputation as a premier global sports destination. He noted, "Abu Dhabi’s hosting of the IMMAF Youth World Championships for the third consecutive year underscores the immense trust and confidence that the global sports community and international federations place in the UAE capital."
Reflecting on the growing popularity of mixed martial arts in the UAE, His Excellency remarked on the remarkable progress witnessed in recent years, attributing it to the boundless support from the country's wise leadership. This support has significantly inspired the nation's youth to achieve outstanding sporting successes.
As the countdown to the highly anticipated 2024 IMMAF Youth World Championships continues, the organizing committee is working diligently to ensure an exceptional experience for all participants and sports enthusiasts worldwide. Building on the success of the previous two editions, which received widespread acclaim from participants, fans, and international sports federations, the committee is committed to delivering another memorable event.
